Dear Friend of Goonj,
The past month highlighted the participation of people uniting for a larger purpose. This was evident at our first National Volunteer Meet in Delhi and in our response to Cyclone Remal in the Northeast.
At Goonj, mobilising and connecting people from all walks of life is central to our work. The National Volunteer Meet embodied this spirit, with volunteers from all over India forming a united community to create meaningful change. During crises, this network enables our rapid response as we mobilise the most affected communities to come together and design and implement solutions for their own recovery.
With growing climate emergencies, this work of mobilising and motivating the most vulnerable people to take action against their own challenges has evolved as the most sustainable response to climate change.
With Team 5000, you too can join this collective action work to co-create a more equitable and sustainable world. Team 5000, our monthly contribution initiative is NOT a donation; it's an opportunity for you to become a part of a common masses led movement that believes everyone of us has a stake in a better world.

Collaborative Alliance for
Disaster Management
Climate change has unfortunately become our harsh reality. Now, more than ever, there is a necessity to think beyond traditional ways of providing aid when disaster strikes, focusing instead on equipping ourselves with better disaster preparedness initiatives.
The Goonj Alliance for Rapid Response on Disasters (GARRD) has been created on this foundation. It aims to bring together diverse groups to work as a team during disasters. We combine resources, skills, and local knowledge to help communities more quickly and effectively. This new approach is designed to make our efforts faster and more impactful in the long run, especially during crises.
